ZITO KARE Zito B. Kare is a full time artist who, for the past 20 years has made Brownsville, Texas his home. Prior to his Texas residency, he lived and worked as a full-time artist, since the early 70's in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Zito, a self-taught artist with background studies in Architecture, travels frequently and executes his field of studies in oil and watercolor. Most of his finished works are done in his studio in Brownsville. His works give an aura on intimacy between his human subjects and the landscapes of which they are a part and with which they interact. People, particularly young children, are mostly the focal point of his paintings. Harmony between man and his natural environment is the artist's recurring theme. Zito's figures are depicted with accuracy and naturalness. His landscapes are carefully observed and lovingly detailed. He paints true to place and captures the timbre of human endeavors. Zito has numerous works in private collections in Canada and the USA. He has had successful one-man shoes with galleries that represented him in Vancouver and Victoria, B.C., Winnipeg, Man., Edmonton, Al. and Toronto, Ont., Canada. In Texas, his works are currently exhibited at Nuevo Santander Gallery in McAllen and G. Stanton Galleries in Dallas.
