JOE FARMER

     Joe Farmer grew up in New Mexico and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He
currently resides in the Texas Hill Country near San Antonio.  Joe studied at the
University of Texas Pan American.  His paintings are done in oils and alkyds 
with strong colors and with peasant life as the dominant theme.  His work is largely 
influenced by the rural culture of Mexico.  Joe's work experiences have also informed 
his artwork and range from farmhand to roughneck on a drilling rig.
